Happy Easter Purple Class

Happy Easter Purple Class and Wake ‘n’ Shake Champions!

Well done for an excellent term in Year 2. You have all worked very hard and are rising to the challenge of Year 2 learning. Learning about ‘Long Ago’ and ‘Easter’ has been really enjoyable. It was great to travel back in time and become historic scholars and to think deeply about the meaning of Easter.

We have been very proud of all your achievements this half term, with a wonderful performance singing on the steps and fantastic achievements in our writing competition. Not to mention being the new Wake ‘n’ Shake Champions. A very well done to all! You are definitely showing confidence and independence in your learning.

Have a lovely Easter break with lots of rest and play. When we return to school, our new topic is ‘Globe Trotters’ where we will be comparing our lives with the lives of people from a different country, developing your Geography and RE skills further. Plus, we have an exciting trip to Worcester Cathedral! It will certainly be a full half term of wonderful learning.

We look forward to welcoming you back for the Summer term.

Happy Half Term Purple Class

Well done Purple Class for a successful half term during which you have been working hard with your independence and cooperation. We started this year with the exciting project of ‘Building a Business’ where we developed our very own business ‘Blackwell Biscuits!’ This certainly developed your communication and cooperation skills by working as a team, designing, making and then packing your final product. You should feel very proud of yourselves for raising the money for a local foodbank, where you have helped families who may not have much. Thank you to all families who supported your ‘Blackwell Biscuits’ business.

We have finished our ‘Our World’ topic where we enjoyed reading and listening to different folk tales from other cultures, being resilient to create a collaborative piece of textile artwork to display for all to see in our main entrance and learned all about how Muslims live. It was lovely during this time to hear your own views and your developing respect for others has been a highlight of this half term. This learning is important to help you understand the wider world, diversity and the life experiences of others.

What a busy and hardworking half term it has been. You deserve a well-earned rest over the next week. Enjoy plenty of time with loved ones, at home or away and some time for a little bit of reading and mental maths practise. It would be great to continue learning to tell the time at home – in all four quarters of the clock and then in 5 minute intervals when you are ready. Lots of you found this tricky last week so why not brush up?

We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 27th February with a new dilemma set all the way back in 900 AD!

Happy Holidays Purple Class

Well done Purple Class for a fantastic end of term. You did really well with performing the Nativity to an audience, with great singing, dancing and narration. We were so proud of you!

This term has been a busy one with our Traditional Tales topic where you learned lots about The Three Billy Goats Gruff and shared your excellent learning with Green Class. We know you also particularly enjoyed the trip to the theatre to watch The Bear. It was great to finish the term with Aladdin at the panto and some festive party games.

Thank you so much families for your kind and generous gifts. Wishing you a very happy Christmas with fun and laughter. See you all in the New Year for a brand new ‘Building a Business’ topic.

Happy Half Term

Hello Purple Class,

Happy half term! Well done for a great first half term in Purple Class. We have enjoyed learning lots about the Vikings and also about seasons in our latest topic. Our trip to Bishops Wood was a great time to learn more about nature and to be outside together. We hope that your grown ups have enjoyed looking at some of the learning that you brought home to share this week. We have been really proud of all your efforts. Well done Purple Class!

Due to the school trip and a shorter week this week, children have not have shared a new group reading book in school and so we have not assigned a new ebook this week. Please continue with the e-books already assigned and the home reading book and library book. We will upload a new e-book the first Friday back after half term.

Thank you for your continued support. We wish you a great half term and look forward to welcoming children back soon for our new topic, Traditional Tales.
