Blue Class

Happy Holidays and Thank You

Hello everyone,

What a great last day we've had in school today! I'm sure you'd agree that the children sang and retold their Malvern adventures brilliantly this morning, with confidence and smiles. It was lovely for the children to share their books with you, see photographs of Malvern and it was so nice to be able to chat to you all.

The children have been a delight to teach with their hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly nature and we will miss them very much. Please do pop in and see us and let us know how everyone is getting on.

Thank you so much for your generous gifts and kind words. We hope you have a good summer break and we'll look forward to seeing some of you at our holiday club.

Many thanks once again,

from Miss Townsend, Miss Kuriger and Miss Bailey x

We've returned...safe, happy and very, VERY tired!

Good evening everyone,

Well done Blue Class for a wonderful time on our residential. From trekking up the Worcestershire Beacon, to squealing down zip wires and a VERY muddy wild woods walk (we hope those muddy clothes have made it into the washing machine!), we had an amazing time that we're sure we'll all remember for a very long time.

All of the BFS adults were so proud of not only your determination and effort but of how kind and caring you were towards each other, particularly when those heights and dark spaces were a challenge. All of our leaders (James, JJ, Ethan and John) said they wish BFS could come every week because of your great manners, super listening skills and smiles.

We imagine some of the children have been fast asleep for quite a while by now but we hope that when they are recharged and full of beans again they will enjoy sharing their holiday tales with you. Thank you for making this trip possible and we're sure the children will be delighted that we can share the happy news that all of them can now make their own bed and their own lunch!

We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at the Summer Fair (a little bleary eyed perhaps) so please come for a chat to find out more about our trip.

Many thanks,

from The Blue Class Team xxx

Happy Half Term

Hello Everyone,

Very well done Blue Class for working so hard this half term during our 'Go Global' and 'Jubilee' topics. They have been fascinating topics where you have developed both your understanding of the wider world, including the history of South Africa and The Commonwealth, and closer to home when investigating our Royal Family. It certainly was a surprise when we discovered that Queen Elizabeth owns all of the dolphins in British waters and she doesn't have a driving licence or passport!

Last week, was certainly one we're sure we'll remember for a long time to come. Learning how to dance around a maypole with friends from Astley Primary School, being put through our paces by Darren Harris (the most decorated British blind footballer), creating crowns of coins (followed by endless counting of 1ps and 2ps by some willing volunteers), a warm and wonderful sports' day with parents able to cheer you on and a street party with lots of tasty treats were some of the main highlights. Phew... we'll all need a good rest this week.

Thank you to your grown ups at home for supporting you in so many ways this half term from encouraging quality homework each week, working on targets shared at parent consultations, generous donations during our sponsored learning and cheering you on particularly during the Year 4 'big' race. Parental support is greatly appreciated and it makes such a difference to the children's academic progress and learning behaviours.

Have a lovely half term and any Platinum Jubilee celebrations you may be taking part in. Keep enjoying lots of reading and times table games over the next few days too. Your times table fluency and accuracy have greatly improved as a result of lots of practise both at home and in school so keep going during the holiday so you'll be ready and raring to go for our special times table quiz during the first two weeks back.

Have fun, keep safe and we'll see you next week.

Happy Easter

Hello Everyone,

Very well done Blue Class for working so hard this half term during our Adventures and Easter topics.

It has been a busy few weeks and yesterday you finished on a high with a great song and poem performance to entertain visitors at our art exhibition. We were so very proud to see your excellent artwork on display and pleased to see many orders placed. We imagine they have pride of place in your house and in many grannie and grandads’ houses too!

We’ve also enjoyed a super 'live' family assembly this half term as well as excellent sporting performances in High Five netball and cross country. All of our events this half term have shown us just how much your courage, resilience and communication skills have developed. Well done Blue Class.

Over the holidays, have fun reading and keep practising those times tables too. Can you master the 7s before we move onto the 9s and 12s when we return?

Have a wonderful Easter break and a well earned rest. We’ll see some of you for holiday club next week but if not, we’ll look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks to begin our ‘Go Global’ topic.
