Happy Half Term
Hello Blue Class,
We hope you are enjoying the half term break, having fun and lots of rest after a hardworking first half term in Blue Class. What a great half term it was with lots of excellent learning, a fascinating trip to Chedworth Roman Villa, scarecrow making and brilliant story sacks you created for our Yellow Class friends. Well done to all of you.
When we return to school on Monday, we start a new topic all about Roald Dahl. I wonder which of his stories will be waiting for us, wrapped up for us to open. We all enjoyed Billy and the Minpins so another Roald Dahl story to share and compare will be a treat. Be ready on Monday to do some good thinking and problem solving as we will start off the topic by working on another dilemma based on our new book.
It has been good to see so many of you continuing to work hard at home with daily reading and times table practice. It helps you make great progress. Our new library book box has been a big hit so don't forget to bring any finished books back to school next week so you can choose a new one. We will be revisiting the 3 times table over the next couple of weeks so have a little practice if you can before you come back to school to help develop your fluency and accuracy. If you think you already know the 3 times table by heart, then for an extra challenge practise recalling the corresponding division facts or use your place value knowledge to try calculations such as 30 x 8 and 300 x 9.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday and we look forward to seeing you on Monday with your P.E kit, warm socks ready for when you go to Forest School and big smiles.

Thank you and Happy Holidays
We've had an enjoyable final week with our lovely Year 4s and it was so nice to be able to chat with you on the playground after school. We hope you enjoy sharing some of the wonderful memories the children have brought home with them this week. The Leavers' DVD and Year Book will be something to treasure for years to come.
The children have been a delight to teach with their hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly nature and we will miss them very much. Please do pop in and see us and let us know how everyone is getting on.
Thank you so much for your generous gifts and kind words. We hope you have a good summer break and we'll look forward to seeing some of you at our holiday club.
Many thanks once again,
from Miss Townsend, Miss Kuriger, Mrs Marks and Miss Burgess x
Well done for another hardworking half term which has included lots of busy learning. We are very proud of your enthusiasm and efforts towards our project and it was wonderful to be able to send off the money you raised to Save the Children this afternoon. You will make lots of children in Zambia very happy when they receive your gifts including reading books, art and music resources and lots more.
It's time for a good rest now and some family time. We are looking forward to next half term where we will enjoy two new exciting topics - A World of Fantasy and Deep in the Jungle. Keep reading during the week (you might find an exciting book to borrow in our new community library) and every now and then spend some time practising your times tables ready for special quizzes soon after we return to school.
Have fun and stay safe.
Miss Townsend and Miss Kuriger x
Hello Blue Class families,
We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday, enjoying time with your families and a well deserved rest. The children have settled back into school life well and have worked hard over the last few weeks. They have continued to work with enthusiasm, curiosity and a determination to do well.
I am sure you'd agree that their singing this morning was excellent and it is always a pleasure to watch them perform - what else can beat the sound of children singing as they did this morning to start off a new working day! We ended the day by being crowned Wake 'n' Shake champions too... so a good day all round! If you haven't already, please enjoy the children's Native American YouTube Class Assembly where you can enjoy more singing, poetry, drumming and lots more. It will give you a flavour of their learning over the past few weeks.
Finally, thank you for your continued support with your child's learning. It really has made a big impact on how well the children have settled back into school and the progress they have made during this challenging term. It is important that the children spend lots of time resting and playing during the holiday but it would also be beneficial for the children to continue to read and practise their times tables to help maintain their progress when they return to school.
Thank you everyone,
from Miss Townsend, Miss Kuriger, Mrs Marks and Miss Burgess
