Happy Half Term Blue Class
Well done Blue Class for another successful half term during which you continued to work hard with resilience and independence. We kicked off 2025 with an exciting 'Let's Perform' topic where you performed your gymnastics routine linked to The Willow Pattern story to the rest of the school and enjoyed creating films linked to all of your learning. You proudly shared them with Yellow Class who were very impressed with your film making skills. This topic ended with a lovely treat when Allan Drummond zoomed into the classroom after he had received your letters you wrote in English. He was very impressed with your writing and it was lovely to be able to ask him lots of questions and hear about and see some of the latest books and illustrations he is working on at the moment.
We finished the half term with a 'Beliefs and Values' topic where we enjoyed reading an award-winning text, The Rhythm of Rain by Grahame Baker-Smith, and created your own information poster to help people learn how special water is. We hope your grown ups at home have enjoyed reading them. During this topic we also learned about the Hindu faith. Our trip to the Hindu temple was certainly a fascinating one particularly being able to observe many rituals, see artefacts and hear stories learned about in school. Visiting such a place, for many of us, was very different and new but the respect and curiosity shown by all of you was noted by our guide and other visitors there. These experiences are important in helping you to understand how diverse our local area is and how such diversity helps make our community and wider world an interesting place to live.
It has been a busy and hardworking half term so have a good break this week. We hope you are enjoying time at home or away, with lots of time to rest and play. A little bit of reading and times table practice would be really helpful too so that you continue where you left off when you return. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 24th February when we will be stepping back in time and learning about The Vikings!
Be safe, helpful and kind and we'll see you all soon.
Love from Miss Townsend and Miss Kuriger xxx
