Dear Red Class,
Do you remember Monday? It was filled with flamenco dancing and taste testing Spanish foods. There was a mixed reaction to the homemade patatas bravas but the tapas selection was a success! Mrs Allen helped us to learn a little bit about Spain and what it might be like to live there and started to learn our story “The Enormous Paella”. Perhaps, you could show your family the actions for some of the characters (dog, cat, mouse etc.)
Letter sounds: qu, x, y and z
In Maths, we used dominoes to develop our understanding of number and started work on 3D shapes. We found cylinders, spheres, cubes and cuboids in the classroom and enjoyed solving problems using these shapes. Try to spot solid 3D shapes at home.
At Forest School, we used Y shaped sticks to build houses for small animals. We also took part in a scavenger hunt to find 4 unique leaves and enjoyed a trust walk where we closed our eyes and trusted our learning partner to guide us around the forest. Some children took their partners for very exciting walks under low branches, around holly and over logs!
Next week, we will learn some our Christmas dances. We’ve already started to learn a few Christmas songs including Away in a Manger and Little Donkey…the classics!
In your book bag, you will find your second Phonics book. You must be working very hard at school to be on your second book! Well done Red Class. Keep your first book at home.
See you next week Red Class,
Mrs Webb, Mrs Reid, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Cain and Mrs Roberts xxx
