Nursery news

Happy “Friendly” Friday.

Our “School Day” on Monday was a huge hit. We had fun exploring the whole school with a photo hunt. I think I can guess which was your favourite room to have an explore of – sorry Mrs Moss! Did you show your grown ups and brothers or sisters the photos? Did they spot where the pictures were taken? We enjoyed having lunch in the hall and finally got to meet Mrs Barker! However, the biggest hit was cuddling and stroking both Mabel and Peggy, our school guinea pigs.

Indoors, in Circle Time, we have been focusing on:

  • Phonics – using the magic microphone to SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW the words down.

  • Number – talking about properties of shapes e.g. a square has four sides of the same length. You used this to help you create squares and triangles with straight objects. Can you remember if the triangle needs to have sides the same length like the square?

  • Communication and Language – Rumpelstiltskin came to life this week with our very own role play. He started stealing numbers from our number line too! He is a thief!

  • Write Dance – our tune “Tickle Tree” has had us creating trees with our straight lines, “scrimbles” and circles.

Outdoors, in Forest School, we have been:

  • Learning a new playground game of “What’s the Time Mr Wolf?”

  • Creating some Natural Art pictures on the balcony

  • Building with our new balcony blocks on the balcony

  • Using our very own herbs to make and drink herbal tea with our friends

  • Knot tying (and untying!)

We all hope you enjoy the sunny long weekend. See you all on Tuesday!
