This week, it was great to chat with you all at the Parent Consultations - it is always lovely to get a chance to catch up properly and of course for you to meet the guinea pigs! The children had their very own visit from Mabel and Peggy on Friday morning when Miss Kuriger brought them over for a cuddle - I have never known you all so quiet, they can come again!
A huge warm welcome back this week to Mrs. Thompson, who will be working with us in Nursery every morning. It is lovely to have another friendly face on board!
Indoors, we have been singing, role-playing and creating with the nursery rhyme "Mary had a Little Lamb". In Phonics we enjoyed an initial sound sort of objects beginning with /S/ and had fun allowing those with this sound to go to the school that Mary goes to. In Maths, we have been singing about more/less and played a fun Numicon game of Top Trumps where you had to compare pieces and the winner gets to keep both. In dough disco, we became the "Music Man" - a firm favourite for footballing Freddie H. We have been drawing rainbows with our Write Dance song and we all agreed, our arms would be aching by the weekend after so much use!
Outside, Mrs. Allen has continued with the potion theme and brought in her own mint plant. You enjoyed making minty potions with the leaves, water, mud and chalk. It was great to see children exploring colour mixing with the chalks - George, in particular, was very excited to discover that blue and yellow make his hands green like the Hulk! Jack and the Beanstalk was our big book story shared in our Quiet Area, Mrs. Allen even brought in some magic beans!! A favourite game though was "1, 2, 3 where are you?" - it was lovely to see this being played independently following Forest School sessions. The rain on Thursday night, created lots of water fun on Friday - some super splashing in the HUGE puddle meant lots of wet trousers! I hope all of your bags have been filled back up with dry clothes ready for some more fun next week as we have run out of spares!
Next week, get those singing voices and those creative hands ready as we start preparing for some Easter fun!
Happy Snowy Sunday!! We hope you are enjoying some snow fun today!
