What a fun first full week back we have had with our new topic “Bears”.
In our “Number” circle times sessions, we have started work on 2D shapes by naming them and looking at whether the sides are straight or curved. We took this learning into Forest School by playing “follow my leader” games ~ spotting circles, jumping through circles and by the end of the week, disco dancing with circles.
Our “Dough Disco” Circle Time has been a hit with our new “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear” dance. We also had fun in “Handwriting” by painting straight and curved lines using trains. This linked in with our Write Dance song of “The Toy Train” where we enjoyed creating our own train around the cabin.
Our “Phonics” sessions have been all about rhyme. We have enjoyed some favourite nursery rhymes but in particular, Baa Baa Black Sheep was a hit as we made different coloured sheep and pulled off three balls of wool for the Master, the Dame and the little boy who lives down the lane.
We hope you are having a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week for some more bear fun when we will be going on a Bear Hunt at Forest School!
