Hello Nursery Families,
It’s been another busy week in Nursery. Our ‘cabin’ turned into a grotto with little elves creating Christmas cards. The children in the Early Years (Nursery and Reception) developed printing skills to make their Christmas cards and the cards could easily put John Lewis out of business. If you would like to purchase packs of Christmas cards, please speak to the Nursery staff.
The ‘Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ inspired our learning this week. We used our hands and the balance scales to compare the weight of objects and used vocabulary associated with weight, for example, light and lighter. We used our skills to choose objects for Mrs Allen’s basket and then moved the basket along a wire in the outdoor area. We loved exploring the story events for real!
We also talked about Remembrance Day. The Nursery staff used the symbol of the poppy to sensitively support the children’s understanding. The children developed their fine motor skills by creating fingerprint poppies.
Thank you to Mrs Allen, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Wilson for working incredibly hard in the Nursery over the last two weeks. We look forward to Mrs Mander’s return tomorrow (Monday, 13th November). We have lots to tell you!
