Happy Father's Day!

We hope you all have a lovely family day today. We have talked lots about our Daddies and Grandads this week through stories, matching games and even had a go at drawing them (which can be seen displayed on the nursery window). In Maths we have been learning about mark making number by using tally. We practised in the cabin first by tallying objects, sounds and then went out to the front of the school and tallied passing vehicles. The speed and number of vehicles passing our school in the day was perfect for us to keep track on our numbers and help us remember to close the gate on the number five. In Phonics we have met Nat and Pat who you helped by listening to their sounds and blending together to tap different parts of your body. In Write Dance we have been using our magic painting hands again to create new colours by dancing to "Air Train" and in Dough Disco we have been willing that sun to make an appearance with "Bring me Sunshine".

Outdoors, the production of items for the Summer Fair has begun with Mrs Allen. You have been planting seeds and creating your own minibeast pegs - fingers crossed these seeds are now looked after enough to see some shoots ready for you to sell. With some new furry friends in the nursery, you have been looking at the lifecycle of a caterpillar. The classic story of the Hungry Caterpillar was read to you with just story spoons - it was lovely to see lots of you telling the story in this way on the balcony during Outdoor "Play and Explore". We are all looking forward to seeing the change happen before our eyes with the caterpillars that are growing bigger every day.

With lots of wet weather comes lot of wet clothes! Please can you ensure your child has a change of clothes in a bag on their peg as we are running short of spares again. If there are any clothes changed, we will send home the bag to be restocked. If your child is sent home in clothes labelled SCHOOL, please could you return when you are able.

Fingers crossed for some better weather next week!

Mrs Mander, Mrs Allen, Mrs Franklin, Mrs Lewis and Mrs Broome.
