Welcome back Nursery!
We hope you all enjoyed a lovely half term with your families. Thanks to those of you who have brought or emailed in your family photographs – we have already had a lot of giggles sharing them and today, puzzling them back together. Next week we will be using your family photographs to talk about what a “family is” as we all have so many different combinations. We will then be using the faces in the photographs to sort into groups and may even combine into making new families! In Phonics we have continued with Rhythm and Rhyme with our new Nursery Rhyme “Jack and Jill”, recapped on making Silly Soup, and played a new game of the odd one out. I wonder if you can spot the odd one out of a group of three objects over the weekend as we found this concept quite tricky! In Maths we have been learning the number 7 and thank you to Mrs Webb for her Dough Disco suggestion of “We are Family”. Get ready for the Greatest Showman next week!
Outdoors, we have been sharing the story of Stick Man and looking at what makes up his family. We then recapped on the skill of “whittling”, creating our own Stick Men and took them for a “Play and Explore” in the Forest. We hope you remembered to pop them next to your shoes to take home at the end of the day! We also used some Forest School sticks as Rhythm sticks to make music by listening to and copying Rhythm patterns. We finished off the week with a game of “Follow my Leader” in the glorious Spring Time sunshine - fingers crossed for many more days like this!
A quick reminder that all left over gloves and boot socks will be on top of the shoe rack for your grownups to spot and take home.
World Book Day is on Thursday and so could our Thursday children please bring in a favourite book to share with us all. Do you think you can tell us the names of the characters in these stories?
Have a lovely weekend!
