Hello Team Nursery!
Our weekly nursery rhyme “Five Little Speckled Frogs” has had us exploring the new green playdough and making our frogs jump into a cool pool. This has led us into making some “silly soup” where we have been adding three rhyming ingredients to sing our silly song. In Maths, we have been talking about and understanding our “position” words and have been jumping in, out and around the hoop and trying to use full sentences to describe where our friend’s faces are on the cupboard. For Dough Disco, we have been moving the dough to the “Locomotion” – thank you Matthew for putting that song in our head – and learning the words and actions for our Write Dance song “Little Sun”.
What a windy week! Although it did make us all a little wild, we managed to keep cool and calm around the fire circle where Mrs Allen introduced some new tools to us. We enjoyed using the potato peeler to take the bark of the sticks to make some mini stick men and a hammer to knock some nails into wooden blocks to create a web by weaving wool in, out and around. In the afternoons, Mrs Allen has been teaching us a new outdoors game of “40-40” where we had to make our way back to the den without the “finder” spotting us. We have also all been clapping out patterns and copying patterns on the balcony to keep dry from the rain up on the balcony.
With a whole school trip tomorrow, we will be exploring the old and new school buildings and having some fun in each classroom! We may even make it into Mrs Moss’ office but shhhh, don’t tell.
See most of you in the morning ready for some final week fun
Mrs Mander, Mrs Allen, Mrs Franklin, Mrs Broome and Mrs Lewis xxx
