Grabbit Homework!

Hello Green Class,

For your homework this week Grabbit would like you to create an olympic sport for him to take part in. You can draw the sporting activity, including any other contestants you think would like to take part. Maybe you could be really ingenious and think of a way to make Grabbit move and win the race!

Have a lovely weekend!

Noah's Ark Homework

Hi Green Class,

I can't believe I couldn't get into school today! I was stuck on the M5 motorway for eight hours! It was a very boring day for me so I hope you had a nicer time at school.

As we have begun our 'Judaism' topic I thought you might like to watch 'Noah's Ark', one of the stories from The Old Testament and choose one of the activities below. The link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni1Y_ZHG-es

You could choose to:

retell the story, create a collage that represents the story or paint a picture.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Have a lovely Christmas!

Hi Green Class!

Wow, what a wonderful term we've had! You've grown up such a lot this term and really feel like Year One children now. What a lot of learning! You were brilliant in the Christmas Nativity - well done again.

Thank you parents for your very kind words and Christmas gifts. We hope that you and the children have a very lovely Christmas and some much needed time to spend together and get over the pre-Christmas illnesses.

We can look forward to an exciting new topic and a trip to the theatre together.

With love from Mrs Edney, Mrs Allen and Miss Farmer :)

Well done Red and Green Classes

Hello Red and Green Classes, Well done for super Nativity performances and for helping your families have such a lovely time watching you. Have a Happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year for lots more exciting learning. Mrs Moss xx ps - remember to keep reading over the holiday so that you don't forget your reading skills.

A Great Week!

Hi Green Class,

Well done for a great first week as grown-up Year Ones - we've had a great week! You're settling in after a lovely long Summer holiday and are beginning to learn the expectations for Year One. We'll continue to build on our learning throughout the year and I can't wait to see where the learning will take us. Mrs Allen, Miss Farmer and myself look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Nearly There!

Hi New Green Class!

I hope you're having a lovely holiday and have been watching the school building developing on the website. As you can see, there is still lots to be done before we can get back in, so I hope the weather stays dry so that the builders can do all of the work! It will seem really strange having our classroom in a different area but I think it will be exciting too. I'm looking forward to getting everything ready for our first week back.

If you have time on your hands perhaps you could design a picture of an imaginary school, labelling it to explain what everything is. Let your imagination run wild!

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank You Green Class!

Hello Green Class,

Thank you for a lovely year together and for all your hard work! Thank you also to your parents for their cards, gifts and kind words.

Have a lovely Summer!

Love from Mrs Edney :)

Ugly Bug Ball!

As a fantastic finish to our Growth Topic you are invited to an Ugly Bug Ball on Thursday 16th July in school.

You may wear your own clothes if you contribute £1 towards the Blue Cross charity. If you have some Ugly Bug clothes, even better!

We will share our Ugly Bug dance with Red Class and enjoy some party games and food too!

See you there!

From Mrs Edney and Mrs Fox :)

Egg boxes and bottle tops!

Hi Green Class,

Please could you bring in any cardboard egg boxes and plastic bottle tops that you have on Monday. We'll need them to help us to create our money boxes next week.

I hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Stone Age!

Hi Green Class!

What a fantastic first day back! You have already learned a lot about the Stone Age and have built part of the Skara Brae village in the playground, been involved in an archaeological dig and made some stone age tools!

We'll use all of our learning to create a non-chronological report all about the Stone Age.

I hope you've had a good day.

Sporting Stars and the Ryland Centre!

Hi Green Class,

Are you ready to become a 'sporting star'? Tomorrow we will kick off our week's topic with our trip to the Ryland Centre to have a go at some athletics. You'll need to remember to have your outdoor PE kit with you, including jogging bottoms, top and trainers. It promises to be very wet tomorrow, so your waterproof coat is very important!

We will be taking our water bottles and snacks with us, so remember those please!

We will be back by lunchtime so there's no need for packed lunches tomorrow.

I can't wait! See you then.

from Mrs Edney :)
