Well done children for another great term. You have all worked so hard and have been such enthusiastic learners during our Katie Morag, Special Places, Ancient Greece and Easter topics. It has been a delight helping you with your learning both in the classroom and on many trips too… St. Catherine’s Church, Worcester Cathedral and The British Museum!
So… what’s in store for next term? I have lots of exciting new learning planned beginning with a Picture Perfect topic where we will set up our own art gallery. During the holiday have a think about the following:
Do you have a favourite artist or a favourite painting?
Why do you like them/it?
What techniques do they use?
Where have you seen their work?
You may want to bring a copy of it to school on the first day back to share with the class.
Finally, well done for performing so well at our Easter coffee morning and to those who showcased other musical talents. You were all stars!
I hope you and your families have a lovely Easter holiday. Have plenty of rest and fun but remember to keep reading and practising your times tables.
I’ll look forward to hearing your holiday news when we return on Monday 13th April.

We have all had a great day at The British Museum today. The look on the children's faces as we turned the corner and saw the impressive building was priceless. Not only did we enjoy exploring the Greek artefacts and completing several quizzes but also the journey into London itself spotting famous landmarks such as Wembley, The Shard, BT tower and the Hoover building to name just a few!
We expect your child was exhausted when they got home but over the next few days encourage your child to tell you more about what they saw, thought and learned during their trip.
Thank you to the PTFA for funding the trip and to all the staff and helpers for making this trip possible and such a success. It is greatly appreciated and helps makes the children's learning so enjoyable.

Well done children for working hard over the last few weeks. Have a good half term break with a little bit of reading and times table practise and lots of rest! I look forward to seeing you when we return for an exciting Ancient Greece topic.

What a lovely day we had at Worcester Cathedral today. We were all amazed by the size and beauty of the building, including its stained glass windows and other beautiful artefacts. Not only did we learn so much about Christian worship but we learnt a lot about the past too! It was lovely to see you so keen to find out about the daily lives of the monks and how King John and Henry VIII were linked to the Cathedral. You asked excellent questions, listened well and once again your behaviour was outstanding. So it's a big well done from me! I'm looking forward to seeing how the trip will help you with your report writing and art work later on this week.

Well done Blue Class for a very enjoyable Grand Concert. Your performance of 'Flower of Scotland' was excellent and I was very impressed with the range of individual and group performances too. Drummers, poets, pianists, dancers, guitarists to name just a few! It was lovely to see such talented and confident children. A super afternoon enjoyed by all!
Training for your jobs will begin this week. Please bring a wallet or purse to school so that you can keep your well earned money safe!

Happy New Year and I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday and hearing all of your news. We have an exciting new topic with a Scottish link when you return to school and I have put some activities on the School Wall to do with this. Have a go to slowly get your brain back into learning mode and to earn some stars!
See you soon,
Dear Children and Parents,
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a happy 2015! Well done children for all of your hard work and enthusiasm this term and for your excellent performances of the Nutcracker. You were all stars! Thank you to your parents for all the support they continue to give to the school and your learning. Have a good holiday and rest everyone.
I will see you all in 2015 where lots of exciting new learning awaits!

What a super performance of The Nutcracker this afternoon! We had a brilliant time and it was lovely to see you sitting there spellbound as Clara and the Nutcracker Prince travelled on their way to the Land of Sweets. Once again, your behaviour was excellent even though you were by far the youngest in the audience. The staff at the Hippodrome thought you were great!
Tomorrow, you will write your review of the performance and then it's our turn to perform Blackwell's version of The Nutcracker! Will your parents be spellbound as they watch you? Fingers crossed.

There are two new School Wall activities for you about 'The Nutcracker'. Happy learning everyone!

Hello Blue Class,
I want to say a very big thank you to you all! We had a very busy week last week and you were all brilliant! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Lickey Hills Primary School performing your Bhangra dancing and drumming to your parents. Your dancing was energetic, perfectly in time and your parents were spellbound as they watched! I was amazed at the complexity of the drumming you were asked to do but once again you excelled at this challenge. Jag was very impressed by your musical talents. Even though some of you were a bit sleepy the next morning, our family assembly was a great success, enjoyed by all with entertaining story telling, beautiful singing and confident speaking. To end the week, you worked hard at our Jewish festival, sharing your learning with your parents and developing important life skills.
You should all be very proud of yourselves. Onto our next project now... The Nutcracker performance. I can't wait!

Remember that we are rehearsing at Lickey Hills Primary School on Wednesday (26.11.14) so you need to wear a warm coat, gloves and a hat as we are walking there.
We will have a later lunch when we get back.
We look forward to showing one family member what we have learnt in the evening at Lickey Hills and we need to be dropped off at 6-6.15pm. Remember to wear dark trousers and a brightly coloured plain t shirt.

We have a very busy and exciting week ahead of us.
1. Bhangra performance at Lickey Hills Primary School on Wednesday evening (6.30pm)
2. Blue Class family assembly on Thursday (8.35am)
3. Jewish festival in the hall on Friday (9.00am - 11.00am)
So this weekend it would be a good idea to practise your story retell, learn any assembly lines you may have and if you have any time left getting dancing or drumming!
See you on Monday.

P.S. Remember to wear black leggings or trousers and a plain brightly coloured t-shirt on Wednesday evening.
We enjoy doing lots of P.E. and this takes place both inside and out. Please ensure your child has jogging bottoms in their P.E. bag (it's too cold outside now for the children to be wearing shorts) and both pumps and trainers. Pumps are used for indoor P.E. and trainers for outdoors as they have better grip and will get muddy. Please provide a carrier bag for your child to put their trainers in.
