Hello Blue Class,
I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and having lots of rest in preparation for a very exciting year ahead! It has been very busy here at school since we broke up with big diggers, cranes and trucks starting work on the new build. I know lots of you have enjoyed looking at the photographs of the work on the school website or having a look as you wander past.
As you know our first topic is Native Americans. I have planned lots of exciting and challenging learning for you including how to design and construct a tipi, using new drawing and painting skills to create landscape paintings of the American plains, retelling Native American stories and performing traditional Native American songs.
However, you still have several weeks before you come back to school. But, if you would like to get your brains buzzing and do your own learning about Native Americans before you come back to school that would be great. You might want to make something linked to the Native Americans, do some art work, write a Native American story or create a fact sheet. The choice is yours. You can bring your learning to school on the second day back (Tuesday 8th September) and share it with the class. I will also put some activities on the School Wall for you to have a go at where there will be lots of stars up for grabs.
Enjoy the rest of the holidays and I’ll see you bright and breezy on Monday 7th September. I’m really looking forward to it.
From Miss Townsend xxx
P.S. Remember to pick up and enjoy a book every so often! It will make such a difference to your learning when you come back to school.
