Bits and pieces

Today sees the end of our Anglo-Saxon topic and what a busy and enjoyable topic it has been. We've enjoyed two trips, learned lots of new art skills with Mr Riley and enjoyed performing our Beowulf puppet show yesterday to Yellow Class.

Over the next two weeks, our topic is Easter and we look forward to sharing a coffee morning with parents on Friday 12th April. For homework, please have an extra push on reading and spelling and begin to learn the 7 times table.

On Monday, we are taking part in our first bell-boating session. Please bring a small rucksack to school (bookbags can stay at home) containing your lunch, a snack and a couple of drinks. Keep an eye out for the weather forecast over the weekend. If the forecast is for a sunny day (fingers crossed), bring a sun hat and if rain is forecast (hopefully not), it would be useful to pop spare clothes in your bag including underwear. Make sure you have plenty of layers on as it can be quite chilly on the canal and a hooded waterproof coat is essential. You can come to school in jogging bottoms and trainers. I look forward to our first training session in preparation for the annual Bromsgrove bell-boating regatta in July. I have high expectations this year!

On this sporting note, I would like to say a big congratulations to those children who attended the High 5 competition this week where we became North Worcestershire Champions! Not only was I very proud of this achievement, but the children's behaviour and sportsmanship was outstanding too. Mrs Webb is busy organising another sporting event for those who did not attend this event so here's to further enjoyment and success!

Finally, parent consultation dates and times are in book bags tonight.

Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you ready and raring to go for bell-boating on Monday.
